In November 2008, Madrid Network launched a program of conferences and meetings entitled "Madrid, Community of Knowledge".
The purpose of this series – directed by economics professor Pedro Schwartz – is to analyze and spread the word about the progress that has been made in the so-called economy of knowledge, as well as the achievements made by universities, companies and the Autonomous Community of Madrid in the fields of science and technology.
Well-renowned and prestigious experts, both Spanish and international, such as Robert Lucas, Paul Romer, Ken Robinson and Juan Luis Arsuaga have participated in these conferences.
The Community of Madrid is in the best position to take the lead in economic change and has long been determined to develop the economy, seeing that he who promotes the economy will in turn lead the future.
