Galileo and GMES
The evolution of the European context in relation to the Galileo (global system for satellite navigation) projects and GMES (monitoring system for environment and security) now allows the Madrid Region to improve their positioning in relation to both projects. The general data available in terms of training needs, employment, turnover, companies, industries and users involved, must encompass an analysis of the socio-economic impact from the perspective of Madrid, both with respect to the initial launch phases, and to the consolidation phase of both projects, the time horizon of Galileo being 2020 and that of GMES 2014.
Among the proposals, once a group of companies, universities and research centers, institutional users and other potential users / participants have been identified, there will be a focus on concrete actions: information and promotion actions, demonstration activities, technology development activities and R & D, infrastructure implementation activities, and service deployment actions.
